Hilary SoperHilary Soper, painter and printmaker, lives alongside the Salcombe Estuary in South Devon, England, and much of her work is influenced by the constant changes of light and mood brought by tidal water. Hilary worked in higher education, journalism, TV research and wildlife cruising before focusing on a life-long interest and involvement with art. The award of an Artist-in-Residence place aboard M/V Orlova in January 2006 was the culmination of a long-held ambition to reach Antarctica. The desire to go South, kindled long ago, has been strengthened year by year through the experiences of her husband Tony Soper – wildlife writer, film-maker and expedition leader.
